The Bahamas are the North Americans’ most popular yacht charter destination. This may be largely due to its proximity to Florida. But this is not the only reason why.
The islands of the Bahamas are a must-see destination by themselves: with about 700 islands blessed with pristine beaches, a diverse marine life and a tranquil blue sea, Bahamas yacht charter vacations are undoubtedly holidays anyone would welcome.
The Best Time To Go To The Bahamas For Yacht Charters
If you’re looking for that perfect Caribbean weather the whole year round, the Bahamas may not exactly fit the bill. The wind can get cold here especially during the winter and the sea even colder for swimming. If the sun is what you’re after, always put the weather and seasonal changes into consideration.

Choices: Bahamas Yacht Charters
1) All inclusive/Crewed Yacht Charters
An all inclusive Bahamas yacht charter is a luxurious way to sail the islands of the Bahamas. This already includes a skipper and a cook as well as all the necessary equipment you need for exploring the islands from kayaks to snorkeling gears.
If you decide to charter an all inclusive yacht holiday, ask for the specific things they provide, as an “all inclusive” holiday can mean different things to different companies.
2) Yacht with Skipper
This is usually cheaper than an all inclusive package. A skipper, who is sometimes the owner of the boat will be your captain during the cruise. You will need to buy some provisions before sailing, which should not be much of a concern as there are many places to do your shopping.
If you’re not sure about what you’ll need on board, your skipper should be able to give you some assistance. You don’t have to buy everything before the trip though as you can easily buy what you need in some cays that you will be visiting.
Since only a skipper is provided for, you will need to do your own cooking as well. If this is not to your liking, some Bahamas yacht charter companies can provide a cook for an extra expense.
3) Bareboat
And for those who would rather sail their own yachts, a bareboat charter is the way to go. Bareboat charter is only limited around the Abacos. Bareboat yacht charter companies are available in Hope Town and Marsh Harbour
