Ambergris Caye, Belize
Ambergris Caye is about 20 miles from mainland Belize which is its' most famous destination for exotic island vacations. Undoubtedly one of the world's top islands, it has some of the world’s best beaches and is right on the Western Hemisphere’s longest barrier reef.
It is also an easy boat ride to the mainland where you can explore the exotic splendor of Mayan ruins.
Best Time To Go For An Exotic Island Vacation
There are different opinions as to the best time to visit Ambergris Caye. Widespread knowledge is that the dry season is from October – May while the wet season is from June through September.
This is however refuted by the Belize tourism Association in Caye Caulker ( nearby island )
How to Get to Ambergris Caye:
You can get to San Pedro in Ambergris Caye, by plane or by boat. There are many small planes that fly from the Belize Intl. Airport and the Municipal Airport.
You can also take water taxis or ferries which take about an hour and 30 minutes.
If you’re coming from Mexico, there are flights that go directly to San Pedro from Corozal.
Hvar, Croatia
Hvar is one of the more hip, if not ostentatious exotic vacation destinations in Croatia. The whole island is lush and green, and lavender come springtime with the lavender plants all over the island in bloom.
How to Get to Hvar
Hvar can be reached by boat from mainland Croatia. Most vessels depart from the city of Split although there are also other ferries that leave from other cities on the coast.
There are also ferries from Ancona in Italy to Hvar.
Best Time Go
Hvar ( and the Adriatic islands for that matter ) makes for great visits during the summer season. And if you don’t mind at least an 8-degree temperature, Wintertime is just as great a time to visit.

There are direct flights from Lisbon in Portugal to the Madeira International Airport In Santa Cruz. There are also flights from many European cities that fly directly to the international airport.

Best Time To Visit
From November to April, the temperature can go as low as 15 degrees celsius, but it usually averages at 20 degrees with warm sunshine.
It can get cool at night so it’s best to include a jumper in your suitcase.
If you prefer much hotter weather, go in the Summertime from May-October when the temperature averages at 25 degrees Celsius.
There may be short and occasional rain showers during the rainy season which is from November to January.
