St Thomas Island Attractions And Things To Do

Walk the shops and see the sights of Charlotte Amalie
Charlott Amalie ( ah-MAL-ya) is St thomas USVI’s capital and is where Port Amalie, the busiest Caribbean port, is. The place can get stuffy specially during cruise ship arrivals, but in saying that it is also a place of interesting and bustling activities. The best way to explore the place is by foot.

Duty Free Shopping In Charlotte Amalie
Shopping is probably the main reason why a lot of people walk the narrow alleys of Charlotte Amalie.

The abundance of duty free shops and jewelry stores attract many travelers to this town on the waterfront.

Magens Bay
Anyone who plans to visit St Thomas Island will have heard of Magens Bay, deemed by many as the world’s most beautiful beach.

Coral World
If you’re traveling with children or if diving and snorkeling are not your thing and you want to see what the life of an underwater marine animal is like, Coral World offers the best experience on the island.

There’s so much to do in this water park from feeding sharks to playing with dolphins. A real treat. There is also a bridge that connects Coral World to Coki Beach where you can snorkel, learn how to dive or just laze by the beach.

Paradise Point Tramway
Get on a tram and see what Charlotte Amalie is like from above. See the harbor, the blue ocean, and the busy streets of the Capital.

The tram ends at a mountainside with even greater views.

Frenchtown
If the frenzy in Charlotte Amalie is getting a bit too much, Frenchtown, just a few minutes away is a great alternative.

The nightlife is more cultured and less rowdy and isn’t tainted with the “not-so-nice” dangers you sometimes hear about St. Thomas at night.

Carnival on St Thomas
A crazy week full of masquerades, drumming, dancing, feasting and mocko jumbies (costumed stiltwalkers). Unlike other Carnivals in the Caribbean, which precede Lent, St Thomas' takes place after Easter, usually in late April.
